Life is…

18 Sep

Open your eyes and see it.
Open your heart and feel it.
Open your senses – smell it, touch it.

And you will LOVE it.
It gets so much more colorful, easier when you are open to see and live it.

We are much to often on autopilot. I always thought autopilot is only when I run low on my energy and simply try to do the things that need to be done before I am completely exhausted. Or before I recognize and allow myself to see that I am already completely exhausted.
But autopilot means something different too: It is the normal life. The getting up, getting ready, doing your day. It is life when you are not open and not connected. The all day everything. That kind of living that we see and we learned – this is simply scratching the surface of LIFE.
And the easiest way to change – from one moment to the other – is to stop. To breath. To allow yourself to FEEL, SEE, SMELL, TOUCH. BE. Just now. Just here. With open senses.

When you are open, you are connected. Connected to Life.
It´s so incredibel easy. Breathe.

Guestpost from Karina Ladet: It didn´t feel spiritual

15 Aug

I remember how disappointed I felt when I became pregnant with my first child, almost exactly 7 years ago, and realized what a human experience it was. Don’t get me wrong now, I love being a human being, but somehow I had imagined my pregnancy to feel like a deeply spiritual journey. The year before I got pregnant I did hundreds of spiritual readings for people online and I was starting to feel like I was – finally! – living my Life’s Purpose. And because carrying a life inside me seemed so magical I just assumed that I would feel even more spiritual during my whole pregnancy.

This is not how I felt. At all. Instead I felt very strongly how I was living in a human body and that this body had a life of its own. I was no longer in charge and all I could do was surrender to what my body knew it had to do. I love being in control so this was quite a challenge. This is when I realized just how disconnected I had been from my body. I used to spend hours meditating and connecting with my Spirit Guides and not so much time being in the present moment and in my body. Despite my big disappointment this was a very valuable lesson.

I have been working on my connection with the Earth and the balance between Earth and Sky ever since.

I am always amazed by the beautiful lessons we learn when we let go of our expectations and truly see what is there, right before our eyes.

During my whole pregnancy with my first child I didn’t do one single spiritual reading and I believe that this was just what I needed to get back into myself again. I was so lucky to have amazing support during my pregnancy by two incredible midwives and my husband. We had planned a home birth but it took too long so I ended up giving birth at the hospital, surrounded by my midwife and my husband.

My natural delivery where I felt so safe and supported was like a sacred initiation and it gave me so much inner strength. And as soon as my son was born I started intuitively to give him healing when he was ill or had troubles sleeping. It’s as if my spiritual work needed to be more balanced so I too spent 9 months growing into my own body. And at the time of birth my spiritual connection got even stronger than before. I guess everything comes in its own time. There is no need to push or try harder. It is ok to let go and be with what is.

When my children were babies I found myself using my intuition a lot and I often asked my spirit guides to watch over them. When we sleep at someone else’s house I visualize bubbles of light surrounding them and protecting them. As my children grow older (my son is 6 and my daughter 3) I find myself bringing back my attention more to myself and to my inner voice and that is a great rediscovery. I feel like I’m coming home to myself again. And my children grow more and more into their own selves and that is beautiful too.

I know that having a spiritual practice or a spiritual life while being pregnant and having small children is different for everyone so I would love to know what it’s like for You.

What is your connection with spirit like when you are pregnant?
How do you stay connected to spirit while taking care of your children?

Why prenatal yoga is better

13 Aug

Have you ever asked yourself if you should do some pregnancy fitness course or do some workouts, or join a yoga class?
So this post is for you.

Fitness courses and workouts

Fitness is good. Yes, it makes sense to stay fit and healthy in pregnancy. But you know what? Sports and pregnanca workouts are overrated. Fitness is fine, if you want to have some extra movement, if you want to carry on with some fitness program. But it doesn`t help much for birth preparation. The muscles are trained, and you are doing good for your shape and your power, but it has not really an important impact on birthing nor is ist a real birth-preparation.

What you really need in pregnancy and for childbirth is that you learn to feel and hear your body, to trust your body, to use your breath and to be present. To slow down and feel. And that is exactly what you do, when you practise yoga. And additionally you are strengthening your muscles and helping your body.

Yoga is definitely the better choice for pregnancy. Yoga is like birthing. And although the prenatal yoga exercises are smooth and easy they also help you to be flexible and healthy. But more it helps for your soul and your soul-body-connection. I can´t say it often enough – birthing is like yoga – yoga is like birthing. You will need to slow down, to connect with you body, to feel, to be able to stress and unstress muscles and BREATH and be. Being in your body.
Being fully in our bodies is not really something we are normally good in nowadays. And you can be very sporty, healthy and active without having a healthy connection to your body. And yoga (when it isn´t done like a fitness programm but as yoga) focusses exactly on beeing in the body and the body-soul-connection.

Don´t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with fitness programms for pregnancy. Being fit is always good. But make sure you add yoga to your personal wellness plan to easily deepen your birth-preparation. (And if you are a lazy person as I am – then still do yoga and skip the rest).

You will be glad you did it.

Spiritual Pregnancy

26 Jun

Rready for a new perspective, ready for sweet joy and birth-power?

How should something so natural, so biological so medical be spiritual or sacred?

It is aching, it is discomforting, it is disturbing, maybe even dangerous and you need experts to get the baby out, right? Or how about this one: Pregnancy is normal, women ever had babies so its just biological and you don t need to make a fuss about it!

How would you like to see pregnancy?

What about glowing from inside, being proud, grounded and happy that inside happens THE divine miracle of live? How we sense and observe things impacts how we feel and what we experience (and not necessarily the other way round). And every woman who wants a child knows this sweet feeling of overflowing joy that the knowledge of pregnancy can bring. But so often it doesn’t stay. Wouldn’t it be great to carry this feeling along the pregnancy and experiencing a similar feeling towards birth?

YOU too can experience pregnancy this way. I can guide you.

>You don’t need a spacial belief (or a belief at all). Only openness. Maybe you won’t call the result spiritual. But you will call it special, wonderful, happy, more peace, wonderful intense, empowering, secure.

A Letter from Universe

13 Feb

In my own pregnancy I searched nearly madly about some ideas and advice about living a spiritual pregnancy. I had some routine (and as always many challenges) in living consciously and spiritual in way that suited me and than after becoming pregnant I felt the strong desire to experience all of what pregnancy can give me. The point is, I wasn´t planned pregnant and therefore I had no preparation time before to get things clear for me, or have kind of vision or idea about the pregnancy not even to talk about spiritual conceiving. So after I finally arrived with the knowledge and acceptance of being pregnant, I felt the urge to dive into it, without delay and with kind of hurry 🙂

In my life I honor the divine feminine, I am pagan and drawn to the Goddess. So being pregnant obviously brought me nearer to the great mysteries of being a woman – the great mysteries of life.

It was like I found a personal invitation on my desk for the experienced intense mystery-course of divinity itself. The fee is “only” living energy: really getting involved with all feelings.

But six years ago I didn´t find any literature (in german) or any advice or support for this journey – I did not specially look for pagan resources but for every spiritual content. And I longed for personal support. As this was not a planned couple-trip I was desperately looking for women´s support to get me through this experience.

Finally I found my wisdom with the help of my best friends and spirit and I found support.

So you can easily see that this experience is still a great motivation for me. It is the reason I became a doula and spiritual pregnancy-coach.

You know, I had some hard times during pregnancy although it was a perfect sane pregnancy. But it was this urge, this strong longing and the problems I faced that helped me in really using the 9 month as a preparation and on the same time celebrating as a special, holy time. So I finally experienced a wonderful great birth without pain. And was able to experience a real initiation. I learned that the journey is not finished at birth and that an initiation does not mean that someone is becoming a new person- but in the long distance one can really see the shift.

I think that when I consciously had decided to become pregnant most of it would have happened, too. Because this way or another I was looking for the spiritual dimension of pregnancy and birth and committed to experience all of it. And that is the very simple clue.

You are pregnant?

Look, there´s an envelope 🙂 for you and a free ebook.

Spiritual Practice in All Day Life

27 Jan

I bet, you know this too: When everything is normal and fine, we so often loose our spiritual connection or stick at the surface of being.

It´s quite normal that this happens over and over again.

The clue is, to get back on track, every single time we noticed that we´v left. But Sometimes its hard.We don´t get back on track. We lost motivation, our pig dog won, or worst: We think its alright the way it is and everything is fine.

We then really steal ourselves the satisfying experience of being deeply aligned with our soul and feeling a deeply connection and diving deep into lived wisdom and feeling really wonderful.

In pregnancy this means we hold yourself from learning more about yourself, motherhood and our babys soul. And it means that we don´t allow yourself to receive healing.

So very often we open up, wake up, when things get worse.

But do we really want to learn every time from suffering?

We don´t choose suffering – so when it happens, opening up and learning and committing to heal and nurture oneself is a good way to cope with a crisis.

But we can learn without suffering too.

We so often stick to the average, pretend that the barriers or the need of healing are there, don´t think of what we miss and steal from ourselves and in case of pregnancy what bunch of great experience we withhold from our baby, too. Because it really makes a difference if we are open and connected deeply (consciously curious) to the baby or not.

It does not make sense to punish ourselves when we start realizing this or to become sad and crawl in a deep hole. The only thing we can really do helpful about this is: Accepting the truth and committing to change (There is the second option of keeping everything as it is, too – that is what fear is telling us – but this won´t make it better or make us happier).

But, believe me, I know how hard this can be. How strong sometimes the fears or barriers feel. But believe me – this is an illusion. It is your own mind trying to keep your from growing because we always have fear of changing and growing. That is unfortunately normal.

So if we really long to feel better, to receive healing, to change these things that are really get on our nerves we need to face the challenge with open eyes and commit ourselves to it.

We all know this. So it´s time to DO it.

P.S. Pregnancy is the phase in life, where it is most easy to access the spiritual wisdom and experience with minimal fears and maximal motivation. So don´t let this possibility pass. Let´s talk in the Birthcircle  about the challenges and successes on the way.

P.P.S. You know what: I wrote this article for me too, because I am stuck on the entrance of a healing change – and I really need to motivate me over and over to face the fears and the feeling of “its okay, you don´t have to do anything- don´t touch it”. But I know that I will be grateful forever, stepping into it. And so will you.
